All the best and see you in the new year.
Our club patron, Ian Fraser “Lemmy” Kilmister, passed away December 28, 2015.
Born in Staffordshire, England in 1945 Lemmy became a musician after seeing The Beatles perform in concert. He then spent his 20s playing in a variety of bands, serving as a roadie in the Jimi Hendrix Experience.
In 1972 he hired on playing bass in the UK space rock group Hawkwind. He did this with no previous experience on the bass, shaping the band’s sound. From 1975 Lemmy was lead vocalist, bassist, principal songwriter and the founding, and the only constant member, of Motörhead.
There should be an obituary of some sort in the next club newsletter for this icon of heavy metal music.
In honour of Lemmy, please enjoy Ace of Spades, and play it LOUD.
While it may not be as good as beer o’clock, or whatever your drink of choice, pizza o’clock is close enough.
It is the end of the year so come along and enjoy the company and the pizza, and have a good time.
As always it’s the same bat time, and same bat location (hanging upside down, under a shelf).
See you there. I’ll be bringing a fruit tray this year.
See you all on Saturday night.
Andrew
