New aircraft article posted to the site

Steve Pulbrook’s article on the Spitfire Mk Vc, and his model of A58-137 which served with 79 Sqn RAAF, are now on the site. Titled “The also ran fighters department – Airfix Supermarine Spitfire Vc” it is not often you’d see a Spitfire mentioned as an also ran. However in the tropical island conditions, with limited spares, and high maintenance requirements the Spitfire ran a decided second place to other fighters of the day, especially the Curtis P-40 Kittyhawk.

New aircraft article posted to the site

Steve Pulbrook’s article on the Brewster Buffalo, and his model of AN 185 which served with 453 Sqn RAAF, are now on the site. Titled “The also ran fighters department – Airfix Brewster Buffalo B239 (F2A-1)” and often dismissed as a bit of a dog, these aircraft stepped into fill a breach in fighter protection at the opening of the air war with Japan in the Far East allowing defences in Australia to build up before the expected invasion.

The MoB monthly meeting is on again this Saturday 2 May 2015

The monthly MoB meeting is on this Saturday night, at the same Bat time, and the same Bat channel.

We’ll have lots of models available for you to check out, and there’ll be the follow-up from the annual show to get through as well. It is very important for all members to be present so we can get old business closed off and planning for the next show sorted out, and under way.

See you at 7:30 PM (that’s 19:30 hours for all you military time keepers).
